Over the next several years I will be embarking on a lifelong dream - a human powered journey across the Trans Canada Trail, spanning 24,000 kms in memory of my sister Lindsay. Inspired by my Canadian hero Terry Fox, I believe in my dream.
May 28, 2019 was the kick-off, the first leg of the journey covered 250 km from Mile 0 - Clover Point, Victoria to Duke Point, Naniamo.
July 21, was a 5 day paddle across the Salish Sea, crossing 120 km further along the trail.
Touch-down on mainland, Squamish July 26 to laced up the shoes and continue north to Whistler for another 60 km.
August 25, I cycled from Stanley Park, Vancouver to Princeton, spanning 400 km through pathways, parks and peaks. Leading me to July 1, 2020, challenging the prairies head winds on two wheels through the land of the living skies. Here my life began and memories of Lindsay were front and centre.
As an athlete, teacher and international travel guide, my goal for this Trans Canada Trail adventure is to motivate people to believe in their dreams. In an effort to support the Cystic Fibrosis community that deeply impacted me, and will be fundraising for research along the way.
Offering mentoring and training programs focused on health and wellness will be an outcome to help others strengthen their bodies and minds for the dreams seeking a spark!
Along with stories from the trail, I will share my secrets to success and motivational tools to help you achieve your inner-most dreams!
Two feet, two wheels and a kayak have been set in motion, however the journey has just begun. With a willingness to give it all I've got, this dream for a man-powered cross country expedition will help make CF stand for Cure Found!
Every step is fuelled with passion from the heart!
Today, I have covered 1,900km's along the Trans Canada Trail, with only 22,300 km remaining!
Total funds raised = $11,500and counting!!
And one storybook (written and illustrated by yours truly ;) to join me on the trail and share what fun can be had in the wilderness out our backdoor!
Follow along my journey. I will be updating the route, sharing photos and videos about the experiences from a trails eye view. Next leg starts May 2021, as I cycle from Princeton, B.C.
If you would like to make a donation, your funds will go directly towards Cystic Fibrosis research and enhance the quality of life for those in need. Your support is greatly appreciated!
